Sunday October 6th (D)

Toledo passengers will have the option of boarding Train #448 at Toledo Union Station.
Train departure time will be 3:15AM

Cleveland passengers will meet your group at Cleveland's Amtrak Lakefront Station by 4:30 AM
and check your one (1) piece of luggage (per person) at this time, (50 lb. maximum).
Free parking at the Cleveland Amtrak Station, lot is unattended so parking is at your own risk.

After claiming all Amtrak checked baggage in Albany, our journey to Vermont begins with a stop at
the Vermont Covered Bridge Museum in Bennington, Vermont. The museum, shaped like a
covered bridge, features exhibits and history of covered bridge construction and
their various architectural styles. Our day concludes with a plated dinner and welcome reception at:

Monday Oct. 7th (BB, BL)

After breakfast and morning check-out from the hotel, we travel to Proctor, Vermont, the town with
marble sidewalks. A visit to the Vermont Marble Museum is included where you can view
marble sculptures and watch a sculptor-in-residence at work. It is from this site that
marble was used in the construction of such notable icons as the USS Arizona Memorial and
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

We continue to travel north on historic Route 7 to Burlington and Lake Champlain. A scenic
lake cruise and buffet luncheon is included as we sail within an area that is bordered by
Vermont's Green Mountains to the east and the Adirondacks of New York to the west.

Free time will also be available in Church Street Marketplace in the heart of Burlington. This
pedestrian-only section of town features shops, cafes and roving entertainers. Our day of
sightseeing ends in Stowe, Vermont where two (2) nights hotel accommodations are confirmed at:

Tuesday Oct. 8th (BB, BD)

After our included breakfast buffet we meet a local guide at the hotel for a full-day
"Taste of Vermont" tour. We begin with a tour of the picturesque Stowe area and
make a photo stop at "Emily's Covered Bridge". Highlights for today will include:

Cold Hollow Cider Mill: - Everything cider, from donuts to jams. Watch as cider is made the
old-fashioned way with the traditional rack and cloth method on a 1920 vintage press.

Ben & Jerry's: - Visit the factory to learn how two high school friends became
entrepreneurs in the ice cream industry.

Laughing Moon Chocolates: - Gourmet chocolatier in downtown Stowe featuring truffles,
hot chocolate, and local Vermont products.

Lunch will be on your own today in Stowe village, but a country dinner buffet at the inn is included tonight.

Wednesday Oct. 9th (BB,D)

After breakfast we depart the hotel for our scheduled Trapp Family Lodge History morning tour.
We visit the famed mountain lodge and gardens where the Von Trapp family made their home after
leaving Austria during World War ll.

We follow the color trail from Vermont's Northeast Kingdom to the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Have lunch on your own in the classic mountain village of Littleton, New Hampshire.
Here in Littleton, made famous by the author of "Pollyanna" novels, you will also
find the world's largest candy counter.

In Bethlehem, New Hampshire we visit the Rocks Estate for a special maple sugaring program with
warm syrup, donuts and a sour pickle! During this hands-on learning experience we
learn the history of sugaring and how to tap and drill a tree for the collecting of sap.

Our travels continue to Lincoln, New Hampshire where we check into our hotel for two (2) nights.
A plated dinner at the hotel is included.

Thursday Oct. 10th (B, L, D)

This is scenic train day. After breakfast we begin a full-day guided tour of the White Mountains.
Traveling across the scenic Kancamagus Highway leads us to North Conway and the
Conway Scenic Railroad's "Notch Train". The 2-hour train trip will travel through
spectacular Crawford Notch, the most dramatic natural scenery in the East. A box lunch is
included on-board the train. We deboard the train at Crawford Depot to continue our loop tour.
Traveling through Franconia Notch State Park, and after a mountain souvenir stop at
Clark's Trading Post, our last stop of the day will be aboard the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train.
Our 2-hour train ride includes an elegant five course dinner feast served in a
beautifully restored vintage Pullman car.

Friday Oct. 11th (BB, D)

After breakfast we depart the hotel and travel to the New Hampshire Lakes region to visit the
Castle in the Clouds. This mansion estate built in 1914 is located on a small mountain with
sweeping panoramic views of the foliage and lake. Free time in Meredith at Mill Falls Marketplace,
with 11 shops and restaurants to explore, is in a restored mill located across from New Hampshire's
largest lake - Lake Winnipesaukee. A 45-minute walking tour of Meredith is included, but is
optional for those who wish to relax or shop longer. This afternoon we depart New Hampshire and
travel to Springfield, Massachusetts. A relaxing dinner is included at the Steaming Tender Restaurant,
a railroad theme restaurant in the original Palmer Union Station. One (1) night hotel accommodations in
Chicopee, MA confirmed at:

Saturday Oct. 12th (B, L, )

Although our Vermont/New Hampshire trip is coming to an end we still have time to visit the
Yankee Candle complex after breakfast. A New England farewell luncheon is
included at the colonial Storrowton Tavern before boarding our return train home from Springfield, MA.

Greater than 89 days prior = 20% penalty per guest.
